Introduction:
AWS A5.8 RBCuZn-D. It is a bare or flux coated brazing rod used widely as a replacement for high cost silver brazing alloys when higher brazing temperatures are acceptable. The weld deposits have a very high tensile strength, good ductility and excellent corrosion resistance. Nickel Silver weld deposits are also readily machinable and will not work harden when put into service. A neutral or slightly oxidizing flame is recommended.
Application:
Utilized in the joints and gears of machinery, automatic technological industries, and steel-furniture industries. It is suitable for surface corrosion resistance hard facing for cast steel, cast iron, copper-alloy and nickel-alloy, as well as the butt welding of cast iron.
